DIY: Inspiration board and hot-glued tacks

I have a huge framed corkboard in my home office.  This is a DIY I did several years ago.  I took a large, cheap framed artwork I found at a thrift shop.  I painted the frame a glossy white and then glued a roll of cork right on top of the art in the center.

I've decided I want to update it every 4-6 weeks or so to keep the images fresh for me, so I just did an update for March. I originally envisioned using lots of  yellow and blue and springy colors and images.  But I let my heart guide me and ended up gravitating to reminders of Paris and darker more gritty, glam images.

So one half of my board is dark and smoky while the other is springy and light.  Oh well.  It still makes me smile and inspires me.  What's inspiring me these days? Bookstores and bicycles and typewriters and funky fashion and sailor stripes and typewriters and lilacs and zebra stripes and Zooey Deschanel and oxfords and polka dots.

One other fun detail about my inspiration board... Over time I've collected vintage buttons and jewelry and bits and bobs and hot glued them onto brass tacks to make one-of-a-kind tacks full of personality. So easy and fun!
