Movie for a Bohemian Season: Long Way Round

I stumbled on Long Way Round by accident and it's not my usual fare. It's a documentary/reality tv show about Ewan McGregor and his best friend Charley Boorman who decided it would be a good idea to do a motorbike trip around the world and document it on camera.  I didn't know what to expect, and as seems to be the trend lately, my low expectations were in my favor.

My husband and I flopped down on the couch and several hours of good entertainment, laughing, and lots of crocheting later, I was happy that I checked this out.

I typically go in for very girly feminine sorts of entertainment.  But I loved the masculine side of this and was still royally entertained by these larger-than-life personalities.  If you can't take four months off to travel around the world, you can still enjoy this vicariously. And if you've ever done any unusual travels yourself, it will have a familiar ring.

What makes it bohemian:
Deciding to do something crazy with a friend
...then doing it.
Traveling to exotic destinations,
like Mongolia, Kazakhstan, and Alaska,
and finding adventure along the way,
with lots of laughs, fun, trials, and tears mixed in.
Not to mention a car accident, water crossing, mosquito swarm
and bear sighting or two.

And to all my long-ago good friends and travel companions from my younger days (you know who you are), I thought of our adventures as I watched this, and think of you as I write this!
