"You have to write the book that wants to be written"

In the past month, little earthquakes have shaken my soul. One thing becoming more solid is a desire to write. This desire goes back to childhood, but I've hit bumps along the way and taken my share of detours. And here I find myself back at the start.
So I have some writing projects brewing, and now find myself spending nights and weekends not only starting a blog and taking a blogging class soon, but writing and researching everyday. Am I crazy?
It's amazing how taking one blind, creative step has blown my doors off.
Writing and creativity resources I'm loving right now:
- First Draft in 30 Days by Karen Wiesner
- Listening to music on Grooveshark and making a soundtrack to my projects. Here's my current faves.
- Creating collages for my projects - this is one thing that's really helped. Cutting out pics that look like my characters, drawing and piecing it all together. I can just look at it and feel inspired.
Things I'd like to play with next:
- Tools for Creating Ideas - this is an amazing list of creativity techniques I can't wait to explore.
- Freewriting - an oldie but a goodie.
- The writer's portable therapist - this teeny book seems packed with useful things.
Happy creating y'all!
