I love your honesty and admitting something I often wonder as well. I enjoy the flip flopping of reading a really fast-paced, page captivating book following by a thick book that is meant to be savored bit by bit in a slow fashion. Maybe that is why I read a lot of books at one time. I want a book that fits my mood at that moment. Kind of like having a beer one night and a glass of wine the next.Colleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01564381797253929955noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3264220879054830337.post-53021705886590809002011-02-17T08:12:45.231-06:002011-02-17T08:12:45.231-06:00Well said Caz! Meanwhile, I've been devouring the Millenium Trilogy by Stieg Larsson and watching the box set of the TV series 'Bones'. Having said that I love George Eliot and Middlemarch is one of my favourite books.

I know there is a perception out there that everyone is turning into a goldfish but really I'm sure people said the same thing when television was launched (and the talkies before that). In my world a cracking good read and a complex, poetic door-stopper still sit happily side by side as I'm sure they do in many homes. As for what I'd aspire to write myself? You've just got to follow your muse. Writing takes to much out of you to fake it!Cazhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11853693147709202804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3264220879054830337.post-8096890705884299452011-02-17T05:28:37.565-06:002011-02-17T05:28:37.565-06:00I bought the Hunger Games series for my neice rece...I bought the Hunger Games series for my neice recently and she just ate them up (no pun intended). The whole series was amazing to read I can't wait to see who's cast in the movie! http://on.fb.me/gXrImzjan_shawhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02696020012720077379noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3264220879054830337.post-39719793876469065082011-02-16T08:25:24.611-06:002011-02-16T08:25:24.611-06:00Very thought provoking. The whole world is instant gratification crazy and I have noticed it in books.

Whereas books used to lead up to an 'ending' they now seem to always have some type of twist at the end. I always feel as though this twist is 'added' on because they have gone all out in the first few chapters to grab the reader but still want to end on a wow factor. Before, the ending WAS the wow factor. Does that make any sense?! This is why I don't write book reviews on goodreads!

I've not read the Hunger Games but note your appreciation for it!Terriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17432114186589211660noreply@blogger.com
